Send Me Love

Today is surgery day. Today is the day that I am going to have my septum straightened, my tonsils taken out, and my uvula trimmed. Except not. Because my rat-bastard 2 year old gave me a FEVER! AAAAUUUGGGGGHHH!!! This totally sucks!! I'm so pissed! And not at Bobby either, just in general. This thing has been going on since last January.

I could recount every step of the day, but I'll just hit the highlights. I started to feel crappy last night. And on any normal day, I would have downed tons of liquids and taken some type of medication and gone about my day. But because I couldn't eat or drink anything starting at midnight Monday, by the time Tuesday afternoon came around, I really felt like crap. It was almost like a hangover. That feeling you get when you turn your head and it feels like your brain makes the turn in your skull about a second and a half later than you. Plus a sore throat.

So I show up at the hospital and the first thing they do is take my temperature. 100.6° The nurse calls the anesthesiologist to let him make the call. This guy is one that Claudine specially requested for me. He's doing my case as a favor to her. He met with me and kept saying the phrase, "it's too dangerous". That was all I needed to hear. We called it off. Fortunately (?), I was able to reschedule it for the next time the doctor is doing surgery in that hospital. Two more weeks.
