Sunday Party

Go On, Go Home

Send Me Love

Two things happened today. One was that I got so disgusted with the mess that our kids leave in our main family room that I instituted a new rule (After checking it out with Claudine, of course. I'm not stupid). The new rule is that there is no toy storage in the family room. You can bring a toy into our family room but you must take it out when you are done. That goes for you guys as well. If you find yourselves in our family room, you are welcome to bring your toys in with you. Just make sure that you take them back out and put them away when you are done. Although with some of you, I think that your definition of "toys" might vary greatly from what my kids think.

What this new rule really meant was that I had to clean up move this huge set of toy storage shelving that we so cleverly once thought would solve our messy family room problem. So much of my morning was spent assembling this wire shelving "system" in the basement so I could transfer the bulk of the annoying Lego, Fischer-Price and Play-Doh products. Wheeeeeee!

The second thing to happen today was a small birthday party for Claudine's mom held at my the house of my brother-in-law Bill and his wife Pam. Gen, Claudine and Bill's mom, watches our kids all the time so they just adore her. And since she watches our kids all the time, I just adore her as well. Actually, even if she never babysat my kids, she's still a pretty cool person and I suspect that there is a more than fair chance I would still adore her. Claudine, of course, hates her. Ha ha. Just kidding. Claudine has a wonderful relationship with her mother. I just thought I'd stir up some controversy for a minute. Gen's husband Dennis also was there to help celebrate.

Anyway here are some pictures from that party. Notice I don't really take any pictures of anything but my wife and my kids. And even then I didn't get a shot of Jake today. So I can't show you the birthday girl or anyone else. Actually, I think you can see Pam in the corner of one or two of these shots. I don't know if that's significant, but I just thought I'd mention it. I do get some shots of Bobby with his cousin Olivia. So that's something.
