Secret Links

So I am causing trouble on the Internet. And it is totally unintentional - it comes simply because I am lazy. I have a T1 line at work and a dial-up connection at home. So a great deal of my journal reading takes place at work and the bookmarks on my system at work has all my bookmarks set up just the way I want. Conversely, when I am home, even if I do remember all the sites I want to see, I don't always remember their URLs. So I tried something "clever". I figured I could put up a links page on my site that is password protected. I can get to it from anywhere as long as I am connected to the Internet. No one else can get to it.

The problem is that I totally forgot about people's hit meters and referrer logs. I've been using the page for three days and have already heard from two journal authors asking me what is the deal with the "secret links" page. Its not really a links page because its only for my own use. I don't have a problem putting up a public links page (after I edit out some of my more unsavory and embarassing bookmarks). But either way, I would still be using that page instead of using bookmarks on my browser. I don't know if this practice will annoy or piss people off because I am showing up on their logs but not really referring other people. I may have to rethink this.
