I've Been Sick

Go On, Go Home
Next?
Last?
Send Me Love

Remember this entry? Well, I've got a really bad stomach virus. I thought I could escape the sickness that comes forth from my kids but I couldn't. I woke up with a really odd feeling in my stomach. It wasn't quite nausea, not quite diareha. Later it became both. At one point in the morning I thought I was much, much sicker. Go to the hospital kind of sicker. But then I realized that Claudine had put one of those blue toilet cleansers in the downstairs bathrooms. The colors I created plus the unnatural blue of the water in the toilet combined to make a color that I don't believe has ever been seen on this planet before. I did make it to work without further incident.

I made it to about 9:15 before I got that weird woozy lightheaded feeling that meant I needed to throw up. I made it into the bathroom and made my second bathroom related discovery of the day. The stalls in the men's room at my work are unnaturally small. I couldn't kneel down without my legs sticking out under the door. Fortunately no one came in but it made an bad situation even more uncomfortable. At this point, most people would then go home. Ahh, but I am not most people. I figured that since I threw up and had nothing else in my stomach - from either end - I would be safe. That held true to about 1:00 P.M. I was at my desk and suddenly felt very woozy. I wanted to put my head on the desk and go to sleep. I bail out of work and had almost made it all the way home before I had to pull into an office building parking lot and puke. I'm not sure what was in my stomach but there was a lot of it. The entire time, I could just feel people looking out the windows of their offices, laughing and gawking at "throw up boy". I have no idea if there were people watching or not, but I felt them anyway.

Got home, got in bed at 1:45 P.M. and slept until 5. Got up to let my mother-in-law leave and then I "watched" the kids until they went to bed. Watching the kids consisted of laying on the couch saying "No" and "Stop it" and "....oooohhhh, I feel like doody". I have to say "doody" because, c'mon, they're kids. Jake was asleep at 9:00 P.M. and I was asleep at 9:01.
