I am sitting on my lazy ass today. I have played a golf tournament in Links 2001 Special Edition and after I type this, I am going to play a little Civilization III. Then I have to go pick up Jake and Bobby. Yes, that's right. I am the only one of my family who has off today. Sure, I could have kept Jake and Bobby home today, but then I really couldn't sit on my lazy ass, could I? I couldn't play computer games. And that's really what I wanted to do. Personal enjoyment before family is my motto.
I am getting back to normal slowly. I have noticed some things that I am missing. Some things I hope to get back, others I have lost forever. When I was a kid, I discovered I could make a cool gargling type noise in the back of my throat. I could speak and make it sound like I was talking underwater. I can no longer do that. I was reading Green Eggs and Ham to Bobby and there is a passage where the guy is speaking to Sam-I-Am under water. I used to read that passage in my goofy voice. No longer. I've lost that ability. Other noises I can't make are fake snoring noises. You know when someone is boring you and you let out a big fake snore to make fun of them? I. can't. do. it. Which makes sense obviously. If I have a problem snoring, why not take out the components that make the snore noise? Makes sense, but I still miss the ability to make that noise. I know that there will be a primo situation where I could get a big laugh with a well timed fake snore noise. And all I will get is a pitiful snurf noise. The thing I am missing that I am most concerned about is my sense of taste. Nothing tastes exactly right these days. That is to say, I can taste things but not as "clearly" as before. I know that doesn't make sense but that is the best way I can explain it. I noticed something was weird with my taste but I knew something was going on I tried some hot salsa yesterday and it was just kinda bland. Claudine told me that she remembers the doctor telling us that I might temporarily lose some sense of taste. I was thrilled to hear that she heard that. I didn't remember it at all and I was kind of distressed when I realized I had lost some of that sense.
I've been goofing around with a page about Jake. I can't figure out what the hell is going on with Netscape. If you read this with Netscape, I apologize, but it does some really strange things. I will be adding more to Jake's pages when I get the chance. Also, I have to post some of the pictures of the house nnow that much of the work and painting has been done.
